Following their victory over Richmond on Thursday night, Maryland will face off against Louisville on Saturday afternoon in the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship title game. The Cardinals easily handled Mississippi State in their first game of the tournament to improve their record to 4-1 (0-0 ACC). Their other victories have come against Detroit Mercy, Navy, and Southern, with their lone loss coming in overtime to Furman.

 

Chris Mack is in his fourth season at Louisville, but he won't be on the sidelines after being suspended for the first six games of the year following former assistant coach Dino Gaudio's extortion attempt. Mike Pegues is the team's acting head coach, and has been on Mack's staff going back to his days at Xavier. He's a Washington, DC native and played his high school basketball at DeMatha Catholic High School before playing at Delaware in college.
