Turgeon makes me sad. I miss being excited about Maryland basketball. Barely went 2-2 against George Mason, Hofstra, Richmond and Louisville.

I confess, I have not seen a second of live game action this year. Most of that is due to scheduling and I've caught some on the radio but in the past I'd be watching them on the DVR later. I've just totally lost interest. Still support the kids and program and hopefully I'll get into it more once conference play begins, but just tough to get excited when the ceiling seems to be so firmly limited.

Maryland falls to #45 in KenPom after this loss. Their next three opponents are all ranked above them: Virginia Tech (#27), Northwestern (#41), and Florida (#14).

Maybe this is the year Turgeon is bad enough to get fired.

Won't be surprised if MD ends the year in the Top 25.
I'm thinking 11-14 wins in the Big Ten regular season.
They could win 2 games in the NCAAT.
But would be very surprising to me if we get to a point this year where we consistently say, "Man, this team is a lot of fun to watch."

I guess they could win 2... I think at this point, MD would be the lower rated team by KenPom in the round of 32. Just a generally decent, but overall mediocre team. No consistency offensively. You know, classic Turgeon.

Been like that for 3 or 4 years now. I could find a way to watch all their games. Ive probably watched 10-20% the last few years. This as someone who didnt miss a game, even if I had to VHS tape it, from the early 90s through 2015ish.

To be totally honest, at least for me, i had been watching a lot less after about 2010. After Vasquez went to the NBA Gary really had nothing. I think Gary knew deep down that he was lucky as all hell to recruit Vasquez, and by the time he left he just had nothing in the tank anymore when it came to recruiting. And the fact that I currently live in Bruin/Trojanville means that I have to really try in order to watch Terps games. But I don't think his teams play a very interesting version of basketball and outside the 2019 and maybe 2015 squads there hasn't been much that really grabs my attention. That said, I think it's reasonable to clarify that Turgeon didn't lose my attention; Gary did that. Turgeon just failed to recapture it.

And also I really miss the ACC games. They just were more compelling emotionally for me than any Big 10 games.

Didn't see the game. But I'm sure Louisville was "hard to guard". That's his go-to.
Bingo (emphasis mine)
“They’re a heck of a team, they’re deep, they’re physical, they got a lot of pieces, they’re hard to guard,” head coach Mark Turgeon said of Louisville.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
