Maryland will hit the road this weekend for their final regular season game of the year as they face off against Rutgers in Piscataway. With both teams needing just one win to reach bowl eligibility, this game will serve as a sort of play-in for one of the conference's bowl berths. More importantly than the bowl game itself however, the winner will gain an extra month of practice time, an invaluable prize for a building program.
The Scarlet Knights have an identical 5-6 (2-6) record to Maryland, with identical conference wins against Illinois and Indiana, and losses to Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin. They won all of their non-conference games against Delaware, Syracuse, and Temple. Greg Schiano is in his second year of his second stint as their head coach, and is in the process of rebuilding the program once again.
Maryland is currently favored by 1 point in this game.
