I'd love Oswalt for that deal. The young pitchers would have a great resource until we look to deal him at the deadline. He could bring a great return if healthy and having a good first half.

This would be the smartest thing the Orioles could do.
Unless he is vehemently opposed (and he might be) to coming to Baltimore, you sign him on something like this, let him have a good first half, and deal him at the deadline for prospects.

I remember back when it was reported that Angelos nixed the Oswalt trade to Baltimore for Miggy, though my memory may be flawed. He's been a fantastic pitcher for many years, and he's not asking for a lot, as regardless of the back issues he posted six strong starts to close the year.

If he would settle for 1/8 from BAL, there is probably a very good reason that he isn't signing with any contender...........injured.
