IDK about the 160 miles part, but from my time going to school in Tampa... I totally believe they have to be in downtown Tampa to be more profitable. Going over the bridge to St. Pete is just a nightmare.
Yup that bridge is ALWAYS backed up.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Yep. I’ve long since wondered if the way out of this is to just build out Legends Field (Steinbrenner Field) to be a MLB-worthy stadium, and then build parking garages where the rest of the minor league facility is. The Yankees would obviously need to be compensated for this. Parking the Rays right across the street from the Buccaneers would be far less cost prohibitive than down in Ybor or by the channel.
Maybe somewhere out on I-4 would work, but there really isn’t much interest in tax-payer funding.

Any update on the season? I really want to be excited but it's hard to be that way with this work stoppage.

I don't know if this has been talked about on here, but I see that the MLB Network let Ken Rosenthal go. Since I've never been a fan of his, I'm not at all heartbroken over it. However, if what I read is true, then it gives even more reason to strongly dislike Rob Manfred. Apparently Rosenthal's big sin is that he wrote some critical remarks about Manfred.
Manfred is, in my opinion, a really small man. I have obviously never met the man, but I'm pretty sure if I did know him I wouldn't like him.
Damn, I just realized I just blew any shot of ever getting hired by MLB Network.

Did you ever see Dan LeBatard's interview with Manfred right after Jeter's group bought the Marlins and started slashing payroll? LeBatard was hitting him with haymakers. Said something like "we're starting with a lie" right after the first comment that Manfred made. I guess to his credit, Manfred stayed for the entire interview rather than hanging up.
