The Yankees are staring down the barrel at an almost impossible 3-0 hole tonight.

Houston is dominating the Yankees, 5-0, after seven. The Bronx Bunnies have scratched out just one hit thus far. Aaron Judge, who heard some boos after striking out in the sixth, is 1-for-11 in the ALCS, and 5-for-30 overall in the postseason. That's a .194 batting average if you're scoring at home.

Astro reliever Hunter Brown, who obviously believes that throwing strikes is for losers, walked the first two Yankee hitters to open the bottom of the eighth. 'Stros escaped however, with Aaron Judge rolling out weakly to third for the final out.

Yankees are now three outs away from extremis.

In the second inning of that game, Judge ran into right-CF to catch a third out, but wound up obstructing Harrison Bader from making the play.

I guess Judge was used to having to cover for the meek/timid Aaron Hicks in CF. Bader's got arguably the best range of any CF in MLB. Judge needed to stay in his freakin lane there.

The Yankees have $69 million in payroll that's not even on their current playoff roster.

87 win team that limped to the finish is about to be in the WS. So yeah.

Just unexpected. Especially after limping in Sept. I guess anything is possible if you get in

It sure is. Even if it isn’t in your plans.

I’m proud of myself for not going directly right to it. Lol.

I'm guessing he thinks it's too much of a crapshoot after such a long regular season.

Meh. IMO pretty much the same thing can happen in NFL and NHL at similar rates. NBA feels like the only one where the higher seeds almost always get deep and also win the championship at a high rate.

Five is definitely too short for the LDS, especially after the wait that the top seeds have to endure now. That’s a legit problem IMO.

I’d be down to make the LCS and WS best of 9. I do agree, I’ve always thought it was nuts to make it a 11 (up to 13 wins now days, like in the Phillies case) win tournament for all the marbles after 162.
