Why no? Skeptical of how they'll translate?
I know you get that the reason people are so high on these two is that they're 22 and 20, and performing at a high level in AAAA.
So is it the hyperbole that bothers you?

Yes.
Define young first of all. Are we saying 22 and under since 1 is 22. 23 and under?? 24 and under??
I dont doubt these are legit talents but if I had sent Hunter Greene and his 100 MPH heater over to Japan 2 years ago do I think he'd have the same success and buzz as Sasaki. Yup. Greene has always been a very good prospect but he has never been categorized as the best player.

BTW I also dont accept NPB being called AAAA. You dont have guys putting up these outlandish numbers in AAA let alone thinking this league is a little above. The average player over there is an A caliber ballplayer at best.

Disagree. NBP is solidly at or above AAA (and still significantly below MLB). Frankly, when it comes to fundamentals, the Japanese players (particularly catchers) are better than their American counterpart. The foreign leagues more aligned with Single A ball would like Taiwan, maybe Korea...

Korea is AA.
OK, where would you slot the Cuban League?

A ball. Handful of Major League caliber, but largely compromised of Rookie ball types.
Yeah that sounds about right.
Munetaka Murakami or Roki Sasaki...Who do you take to build a roster around in MLB?

IDK about building a roster around anyone in baseball... but... while Sasaki is a little bit younger, and also an elite prospect... I'd feel better betting Murakami. Just me being more comfortable with the position player. For him to be MVP at 21, and that much better at 22 is pretty wild.

No of course not. But yeah, 565 PAs, and 111 of them were walks…and he still hit 55 HR. That’s nuts.

In case anyone cares, today is the 114th anniversary of the "Merkle Blunder," a game that still stands on baseball's Mt. Rushmore.
