Its sad. Feel for the guy but the wheel keeps spinning. Os have to find some high lev arms. Cant dwell on it.

Agree with both sentiments. 

I feel horrible for him.  
He came out of nowhere to basically become the best closer in the game in short-order. 

Sucks he couldn't stay available. Both for him, and the team. 


Becomes a huge what if...   similar in some ways to Gregg Olson, who had 160 saves for the O's, but then was injured in '93 and never the same.  If he says healthy, he might have had huge career save totals.

Shame we really only got 2.5 years of Felix. Really only about 2 years of pure dominance Felix. That 2023 will always remain ridiculous - 3 WAR, 16.2 K/9, ERA+ of 277. Just a ridiculous weapon at the back end of the game.

#orioles say Felix Bautista is scheduled to initiate the bullpen phase of his throw progression tomorrow.

I can't bring myself to get amped about a possible Felix return, which is disappointing because I loved watching him at his best. Shoulder surgeries are a career death sentence. A very small number return to their previous abilities or close enough. If he's dominant on a rehab assignment I'll probably lose myself and get psyched. In any case I'll be curious.

Yeah feels like he has a decent enough chance to come back. Very long odds that he’s effective enough to stick for long.

The odds are against Felix, but I am hoping for the best.  The man was lights out.  

 

Cross those fingers, because Felix at his best or close to it, would change the entire bull pen.

The bad outcomes here are somewhere between never throwing another MLB pitch, and being Chris Tillman.  I'm fairly certain that being Chris Tillman is a worse outcome than never throwing again.

Probably true.  I have always thought that Chris ruined his arm, pitching in that ill fated playoff game.  He pitched hurt and was never the same.
