No one’s at 100% the first day of spring training. I wonder what Charlie Morton is today. 87%? 92%? It’s all pointless words are wind BS, hopefully everybody is ready on opening day.

I guess you are probably correct. But I think, unless you are coming of an injury, you should report to ST 100% ready. ST should be to refine you skills. Get your batting eye adjusted to real pitching. But not a time to get in shape. All IMHO of course.

No pitcher is showing up to ST ready to fire off 6 or 7 IP. There's a reason they're only throwing an inning or two their first few outings.

I think it's unusual for players to show up to ST, and not be in shape. If it wasn't for pitching, ST would only be a 2-3 weeks. They work out all year, and most have access to batting cages, etc. position players just need a week of defensive drills, and a week or two of games to be OD ready.

I for one can’t imagine what February would be like without getting to read that every player is “in the best shape of their life”….every single year.

Regardless of what percent he is, the real information we need is to know how the ball is coming out of Felix's hand!

Ben McDonald said on the broadcast the other day Felix was 94-95 in his pens and live BP. Not sure what to make of that. If anything.

Not good but maybe not terrible. If he’s 94-95 on March 24, we have big problems. If he’s 97-98, not terrible. He averaged over 99 in both 2022 and 2023. Power pitchers gaining 2-3 mph from the start of camp to the end used to be normal. There could also be a mental barrier for Felix to go max effort.

Bautista not being ready would be absolutely ridiculous. Failure on the medical team if he's not available. Frankly it's somewhat disappointing that he's not full go and will have restrictions for a while. His surgery was nearly 18 months ago.

Everyone is different. He throws today for the 2nd time in 3 days. I think how he looks and feels today is going to determine if he is on the OD roster.

Feels like he won’t be the same, if ever, or at least for a while.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Braves broadcast team mentioned one of his pitches at 97 or 98, but not sure where they got the info from as it wasn't being displayed on TV.  Must have had a reading somewhere in the stadium.
