Bell is our best 3rd down back by far. Baffling. Even if Bell is a bad fit as a pure runner in our system I still think hes worth keeping for his blocking and pass catching ability

I'm not sure what their obsession with Freeman is all about. I'd say he's easily the 4th or 5th best option.

Ithink thats the one thing we all agree on as fans. Why Freeman. He doesnt even get many snaps as is. One of you guys that writes articled or knows more about, personell, schemes, etc should explain to the rest of us why you think theyre keeping Freeman active every week. Whats the fit.

I was looking forward to seeing Bateman, but we have good receivers.  Take it slow and make sure he is ready.

You mentioned 3rd down and Bell being the best option for blitz pickup and as a receiving weapon.  

I don't disagree, Bell did have 66 receptions in '19. 

 

But Freeman had 59 himself in '19, so he's had that ability as well. 

Presumably, I guess they just think Freeman has a little more left?

I just learned that teams can only elevate guys from the practice squad twice.

 

Bell was called up last week, so the next time he is called up, is the last free call up. After that in order to promote them they need to add them to the 53-man. So they might be waiting for Steelers week   

 

The caveat is that you can promote a guy for COVID replacement I think unlimited times. That is why Andre Smith has been called up multiple times. He was a COVID replacement for Ferguson. As long as someone who can basically be written off like Ferguson, has "symptoms" and stays on the COVID list, they can call up someone as often as they want without that doesn't count as the PS promotion.

No separation from Watkins. Can't wait to get Bateman into the fold. Indy playing press man, and Bateman was the best WR in the draft at beating the press. Feel like he could have made some plays if he could have been ready.
