He didn't show much power last year either, his lone HR at Delmarva was against a position player.

He wasn't advertised as a power bat, though. He was supposed to have one of, if not the best, "hit" tool in that draft.

18.8% walk rate, .362 wOBA, and 117 wRC+. Not gross.

Clearly he is underperforming but he also overperformed out of the gate last year. He came from a small school, give him time to adjust and let’s see where he ends up before reevaluating.

The K rate is gross. The Iso is gross. The .360 BABIP vs .237 BA is gross.

If he wasn't expected to perform well without having to adjust from a small school, he shouldn't have been taken him with one of the highest picks in the draft.

Matt McLain has an .869 OPS at AA.

Jordan Lawler has an OPS around 1.000 at A.

Things can always change, that's fine.

Not sure what he did to earn the promotion. His numbers are pedestrian.

He was 23% better than the league. 41% in the past month. .281/.407/.461 in the past month.

Wow, didn't realize he was so awful against lefties this year. Last year he was 11 for 18!

He just looks like he's a future 26 year old rookie who peaks as a 4th outfielder.

I hope he improves. What a waste if he doesn't.

He turned 22 in March.

Shouldn't surprise you if he's in the Majors next year.

It certainly won't be his Age 26 season he debuts.

If he's in the majors next year when he can't put up an .800 OPS at high A, it will be strictly due to his pedigree and not his performance.

Manny had a 692 OPS in high A the year before he was in the majors.

The exception that proves the rule, unless you're telling me Cowser is Manny.

Manny was also a teenager. Cowser is 22.

Of course age is the most important thing with prospects, was just reacting to the statement, which said nothing about age.

Here's one: Mancini had a 691 OPS in high A at age 22. He reached the majors 2 years later. And no, it doesn't matter he was an 8th round pick, draft status is meaningless at this point.

He ended his time in high A with a .795 OPS. It was .802 two days ago.
