Why is he still at A+? Seems like he raked last year and could've easily jumped to Bowie.

They do promote often so I'm sure he'll be up soon. Get hot in Aberdeen then roll into Bowie sometime in early May.

Step by step. He didnt play at A+ last year. Like Westburg and a few others last year he will move fast.

Went to see Westburg there last year, and he stood out. It’s always fun seeing stud prospects at that level. You can almost instantly tell who they are without even needing to look up their number, etc.

2 more Ks in 2 ABs tonight. The slash line looks good and I expect it to stay that way but the Ks in A+ is concerning

Cowser looked terrible at the plate last night, like overmatched and guessing. Mayo looked confident.

Baseball America dropped Cowser out of their Top 100. So some of us Os fans arent the only ones concerned after only 1 month

If you go back through this thread you'll see that I was a huge Cowser fan and supporter when he was selected. Unfortunately there has been notable stock drop here. He is a 22 yr old college guy at A+ who is slashing .227/.377/ .359. Still 109 wRC+. Obviously will take his walks.10 SB in 11 attempts. Thats the good out of the way. Now the bad. 32% K rate is just insane considering his draft profile. Never in a million years did I think he'd strike out this much and especially not at A+. The BABIP is .361 and he's still only hitting .227. There is little to no power in the bat. 1 HR so far and a .136 ISO. He's still a prospect but he's headed for the bottom, or even out, of the O's Top 10 list and thats with the expected graduations of Adley, GRod, Hall, etc

I root for him to flip the script. Certainly possible hes in a prolonged slump and will turn it around. Not closing the book but Im comfortable lowering the FV evaluations a bit already

I have no firm opinions other than yeah, you'd like to see the advanced college bat get off to a better start at High A, and yeah.. 43 k's in 107 ab's at High A is kind of alarming. 

OTOH, it's still +/- 100 ab's, and numbers can move quick. 

After his 3 for 4 today, his OPS is up to .771.  Which isn't bad at all since he's yet to be hot. 

If he has a good 10-14 days, he could be up near the .900+ you'd expect.

If the K rate is going to be 30% at high A it just doesnt bode well no matter if he turns it around a good bit. Especially for a college guy. As I said, absolutely baffling considering his profile. Some power would help too.
