Cedric is doing it all right now.  I would like to see him running some more when he is on base.  I think both Cedric and Hays could steal 20 plus bases.  Our lineup needs all the extra we can get from it.  I know teams do not run any more, but we have 4 or 5 guys in the lineup that can not hit, so be aggressive.  Cedric can do it.

Running is a bad idea for this team, IMO.  We're so bad at getting on base, can't risk OBP (caught stealing) for the sake of increasing slugging (successful SB).

There are spots where it makes sense, like with runner on 1st with 2 outs or if you know the pitcher/catcher really struggle at throwing out runners, but for the most part I'd take a very risk-averse approach to stealing bases.

Cedric himself has been a very bad base stealer (66% success) in limited major league attempts, so I'd be especially cautious with him.  He was 81% in the minors, which would be a good if it were an MLB rate but you'd want a higher minor league rate to expect it to translate.  Despite being fast, I don't think he's a particularly adept base stealer.

I think timing improves with reps.  Our lineup is pretty bad.  We can either sit around and hope something good happens or try to force the action.  I prefer the second option.

We have guys in the lineup not hitting .200.  Franco, Stewart, Urias, Sisco, Ruiz etc.  They are pretty automatic outs.  We need to try to create runs.
