Seen all the Best Picture nominees. I think Nomadland wins. It was really good. However I liked Sound of Metal and Judas and the Black Messiah better. I was also pretty blown away by The Father. The only weak link was Mank which was just an odd film overall. It was actually a pretty good year for movies considering all the blockbusters being delayed but that may have been a reason for it.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Sound of Metal was my favorite but Nomadland would be a deserving winner too.

What was your opinion of The Father?

That and Minari are the two I haven’t seen, looking forward to checking both out.

Minari is good, but really slow. I think it was over nominated. Swap out Yuen for Lindo. The film should win best score.

Also, Collectiv is the best documentary, best foreign film and best film of the year. It’s devastating on so many levels.

What a strange broadcast. No humor, no host. Just a long night of awards being handed out. Then they do best actress and actor AFTER handing out best picture, Hopkins wins best actor and he’s not in attendance or on video and the show just...ends.

They were so set on CB winning best actor that they tailored the broadcast around it, and then it ruined everything when he didn't win.

Incredibly odd.
