Outsider here. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the best clubs in the world should regularly be playing each other for the good of the sport.

In MLB, you're watching the 30 best teams in the world. In the NFL, the best 32. In soccer, you have to watch several leagues to watch the best several teams. Which is fine. I love the tradition. Wouldn't change it.

But I like this concept, even though I think it will probably need a lot of work if it's ever going to actually come to fruition.

If Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State decided playing Maryland was a waste of time and wanted to join a super conference with Alabama and Oklahoma, would you like the concept of that? They're basically the same.

Actually, yeah, I think something like that would be better in college football. Consistent good to great matchups rather than mostly matchups ranging from mediocre to trash.

Then incorporate the relegation from soccer to make things even more interesting and to give lesser programs the chance to rise up.

Pay the players in the super league and we'd really be talking!

Which is better imo.

And this would still have significant distinctions from the NFL.

Plus for those that like watching Maryland or whatever, well they'll still be playing and you'll just miss out on a game or two where they get taken to the woodshed.

I love it, great idea.

RE: MD. What about the all the other games they're taken to the woodshed? How do we fix that?

Lol, maybe relegation will drop them down far enough to make happen.

But yeah, I feel like letting the next few years determining who got into this super league would greatly raise the stakes leading up to this. Then you have let's say an 18 team super conference with two divisions, so each team plays all their division foes once, and then you have like four games to play around with. Maybe two against teams in the other conference and two against rivals that haven't made it to the super conference. Plus playoffs and a relegation bracket. 6-8 teams get relegated each year and you bring up teams that win their conferences and/or playoffs from the rest of college football.
