Dude threw 6 straight balls but no baserunner because Franco swings 3-0 with no outs in the 9th (7th). Ridiculous.

He’s the only person in the lineup with any kind of approach at all outside of maybe Mullins.

Great eye and pitch recognition. Its why Ive always promoted giving him his chance. He just has to improve the contact. Too much swing and miss.

On the plus side Zimmermann continues to be super solid.

Came into the day 5-6. Not even that bad and obviously only 13 games into a long season. That said, you could sense the frustration and that they were trying to do too much. Idividually they are struggling at the plate and its carrying over as a collective unit.

Pitching was solid to good all series outside of Kremer. Not gonna be too hard on Scott or Plutko.

The pitching was pretty good.  Harvey and Zimmerman kept the team in both games, but seemingly once the opposition reaches 3, we are done.

This is a major league team in name only right now.

I did not think he had his good stuff today, but he battled.  2 runs in 5 is not bad.

I mean last year was a terrible year to pretend to be getting it together if they were gonna do this. Way to miss out on Rocker and Leiter and then get the top pick again the next year.

This looks like the worst O's team in the Elias era. He should be ashamed of himself.

The offense will hit more at times.  (Mancini, Mountcastle, Santander, Hays.)

It won't be a tire fire all year.

All that matters is development from the guys that can be a piece going forward... and you want to see month-to-month improvement.

I knew it was going to be bad, but my question to the team is simple, tell me how long, do you feel you can put this bad of a product on the field?

They'll need a lot of things to go right, which is asking a lot based on past Oriole experience, to be able to be competitive by 2023/2024.

I didn't see much, but I didn't miss much, either, apparently.

The pandemic really hurt. I think we would've ended with a top 3 pick had a whole season been played. On top of that we lose development time with a talented system working under a lot of new coaches and different approaches under the new regime.

Is there anyone on the team we are confident is going to be an above league avg hitter this year. Lets just say from a 100 OPS+ perspective. I think you have to give the nod to Trey since he's done it two out of the three years he's played but even thats somewhat in doubt considering he was out for a year. I have hope for guys like Mountcastle, Mullins, Santander, and Stewart but I wouldnt say Im confident.

Mancini, Mountcastle, and Santander I think are more likely to be over 100 OPS+ than not. I don't think any are slam dunks, different reasons any of them could disappoint.

No others.

I am fine with confidence in Santander being over 100 OPS+ but I think people need to understand hes closer to the 102 he put up in '19 vs the 137 he put up laat year in 37 games. 260/315 feels about right but he's not going to slug anywhere close to .575.

Mountcastle is too young. Not enough ABs for me to be confident. Im more understanding of confidence in him being an above avg to good hitter long term than '21.
