Unfortunately the Orioles play in the AL East. And will remain in the AL East, where the largest percentage of their games happen.
The O's took a 1 run lead to the 9th last night, and their closer of choice was a 36 year old with minimal major league experience and a near 6 ML ERA. How does that happen? This after an off day too. I mean, if you're tanking and building for the future, shouldn't you maybe have ONE arm available under the age of 30 to give an audition in the closer role?
I really don't think what he did for 20.0 innings in 2010 and 30.2 innings in 2017 has any predictive value for how 2021 hitters will handle him. I think it's fair to be skeptical about Valdez but I don't his changeup worked that good in 2010 or 2017. People know exactly what his plan is on the mound and so far they're hardly crushing the ball even though they know it's gonna be a 78 mph change.

Bring Akin up to start, send Lopez to the pen, return Scroeler to whoever he came from.
Rather DFA LeBlanc.

Because Harvey is on 60 day DL.

Rather DFA LeBlanc.
That'll work, too.

April is definitely signaling a return to normality. We've been having the Masters during its usual time period, and the Orioles are again made look foolish by the Yankees and Red Sox.
