Adds excitement (speaking for myself). Have to admit I like it better when it’s in a game that doesn’t involve the Orioles but still.

I don’t like it. But I can see how people could see it as more exciting. Does the runner count against a pitchers ERA? It shouldn’t, if it does.

The rule is 100% ridiculous. Of course last night the Orioles designated runner managed to stay on second through a ground ball to the right side that left third base COMPLETELY UNCOVERED. So it seems the Orioles also don't like the use of it either...
