Not sure if anyone saw the news, but Loyola freshman Peter Laake was hit by a shot a couple weeks ago in a game against McDonogh and collapsed on the field. Luckily the training staff and fans were able to rush to his aid and with an AED save his life. The link details the amazing work and story of how it happened. Many prayers were answered that day.

The CH/BL game Friday was quite the comeback. Down 8-4 going into the final frame, the Lakers pulled of a 6-0 run to close things out for a win. They needed it to stay in the hunt.

McDonogh is just cruising right along stacking Ws.

I knew they won but didn’t pay attention that it was against Spalding. Nice!

Loyola was down 10-1 at The Hall, then came back to 12-11 but just ran out of time.

On Lake Ave, BL never gave the Crusies a chance as they jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and finished it at 19-2.

Playoffs on deck!

Great game on Chestnut this morning. Rematch from earlier this week. Dons go up early, 4-0. They trade goals more or less during the second quarter. Second half is all BL as they put away the game winner and run out the last two minutes as they take an 8-7 win.

As improbable as the BL comeback may have been, even more surprising is that it was done without a single goal from Pietramala, who was shut down today by Larkin on defense.

Lakers take on SP/McD winner on Tuesday at Navy.

McDonogh picked up a close 8-6 win against SP that really wasn’t all that close at all. SP netted a few close to the end to give the appearance of some competitiveness. They’ll take on BL.

Calvert Hall defeated SM down south by a decent margin.

Spalding and Severn go at it tonight, winner will play the Hall.

Going to be a BL/Spalding MIAA final on Friday night at Navy.

The Lakers took out the previously undefeated Eagles 13-12 in a big upset. Spalding beat defending champs Calvert Hall in the second game.

Did anyone watch the finals last night? BL took the championship home in the best lacrosse conference in the country.

It was a fantastic game. Back and forth, a comeback run at the end that fell short, and a crowd of Laker students breaching the stadium walls to celebrate on the field.

After the year all of these schools have had with distance learning, protocols, etc. it’s great for the students to have something to celebrate. Obviously, that only applies to one school, but Spalding has built a program relatively quickly and also have plenty to be proud of.

Are the public school championships typically this late in the year, or is that just a COVID thing?

Also, do they play at the schools or at a neutral site? I see the H/A listed, but not sure if that’s just a designation.

Games are typically earlier... May ish...    also the Semi and Finals are typically at a neutral field.  I think this year is at Loyola, but not 100% sure.
