Hoke taking a demotion in his responsibilities to go back to the NFL is intriguing, I wonder how many college coordinators would take a demotion if it meant they're in the pros

Like I mentioned in the other thread, it sounds like Karl Scott had an offer to be the Terps DC but chose to go to the Vikings to coach DBs instead. Maybe MD can't afford to pay a coordinator as well as NFL teams can pay a position coach. Or some guys just would rather be coaching in the pros.

An interesting name to me for DC would be Kevin Steele. Tennessee apparently won't be keeping him in the wake of the Pruitt firing, but still has to pay him $1m over the next two seasons (not bad for just two weeks of work!). Even if there is an offset on his Tenn deal, MD could get him at a good price if he doesn't have many other offers out there.
