I like the age levels.  We have a group who should be in Baltimore within the next year, then 2 groups who hopefully will continue to climb towards the majors.

From my perspective, this list was more challenging to put together than the two we did in 2020, but also a lot more fun. There's several players in the back half of the rankings that could move up significantly by the end of the 2021 season, and some very young players like Hernandez, Basallo, and Baumler, who could climb upwards over the coming years.

With the other challenge of course being the lack of Minor League games in '20.

It's going to be interesting to see everyone back in action.  Pitcher workloads, players at new levels, etc.

It will be interesting to see whether the pitchers or hitters find their form quicker.  I suspect the hitters will come back from missing a year faster, but I think some will really struggle.

The #2 pick being the #5 prospect really feels like a glass half full/half empty situation of either

-your minors have really good depth

-you didn't actually take the second-best player available that year

Clearly we didn't take the 2nd best draft prospect available.  That's not really debatable and is confirmed by the low bonus he agreed to (slot for #8 overall, 7th highest bonus given out).

Little of column A, little of column B.

Mayo and Baumler both landing on the list as a result.

I tend to believe what the Os are selling that they had Kjerstad graded as high, if not higher, than anyone but Tork. If that's the case saving the money was the right call. Im not worried about the specific number a player falls on a list ranks. I like looking at FV grades and such. When you have a guy like Bannon outside the top 20 thats pretty damn good depth
