After their game against Nebraska was cancelled due to COVID-19 issues within the Cornhuskers' program, the Terrapins have scheduled a contest against Wingate for Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs are a Division II program from the state of North Carolina who compete as part of the South Atlantic Conference. They currently have a record of 5-3 (5-3), and are set to play tonight against Coker.

I wonder how hard it is to schedule a d1 team during division season. I imagine pretty hard. Though during our other cancelations Turgeon could have tried to schedule UVA or WVU.

I would guess pretty difficult.  In fairness Turgeon did try to schedule Norte Dame earlier in the year and they could not work it out.

Eric Ayala won’t be playing in this game. Turgeon says he hopes to get him back at practice on Sunday, which may allow him to play against Michigan.

You must have Turgeon confused with someone else :)

I've had major difficulty getting into college sports during the pandemic, for a number of reasons. The first of which is morally. Beyond that, the list above, about a 3rd of the games are postponed - it's just too hard to keep up, and hard to get into a rhythm of enjoying the season.

Turgeon said that they didn't want to play a bottom-tier Division I program since it would count against their Strength of Schedule. Division II opponents don't, which is why they scheduled Wingate over some of those schools you listed.

Yeah this felt like the most I've enjoyed the NFL relative to CFB maybe ever. Even with the Ravens essentially forfeiting the Steelers game and the Broncos having no QBs vs the Saints, it's still felt much more organized.

Turgeon is not allowed to talk about strength of schedule.  What an annoying comment.

In that case, schedule 12 D-II games a year :)

No Radio, and only the B10+ site, so it is not easy to follow this game. But the Wingate Whatevers are leading at the 11 minute mark 16-12.

Graham is in the game.

I mentioned it last night on Talking Terps, but this is a game I'd like to see Graham get a ton of minutes. Also Dockery and Smart, and probably even Marial. Get the starters a few minutes to keep them fresh, but treat this like a developmental scrimmage.

Wingate with 18 points in 11 minutes... that's embarrassing for MD.

That would be ideal.

I'd like to see Hamilton score a bunch today. They need more from him.
