Really thought Illinois was an impossible matchup. They really battled.

Need to go 4-0 vs Nebraska and Penn State, and find 4 other wins. Do that and they'd finish the regular season with 10 conference wins...might have them a quality Big Ten Tournament win away from clawing their win into the NCAAT.

Probably not, but with this win, can think about as a possibility awhile longer.

If Turgeon turns this team into an NCAAT team then I really think any talk about him being replaced should go out the window. The fact that we are even at a point where it's a possibility frankly has me beyond surprised.

The way this day has gone I keep checking MLBTradeRumors to see if the O's traded Davis for Trout.

Great win.  And I was begrudging my son for making me watch it.  Shame on me.

 

I thought Illinois made a mistake in trying too hard to get Dosunmu into the game in the 2nd half.  Ended up with 23 points but it took him 23 shots to get there.  With Morsell and Wiggins MD had the perimeter defenders to control him.  We had nothing for Cockburn, they should have just given him the ball every single time.

 

Lots of respect for Galin Smith as well, he's been significantly outsized and therefore pretty ineffective lately but I never see him hanging his head.  He keeps working.

They won last night on effort and clutch shooting.  One guy who did not get much attention last night, but played great was Galin Smith.  He does not fill a stat sheet, but his effort was one of the reasons they won.

I actually think Smith is 6'6" or less but he has a lot of heart.
