Seriously though - is that guy legitimately nuts?  I mean I've seen a lot of intense coaches, but he seems to take the cake.

One of my favorite Fran moments is when he got ejected from a game when he was the head coach at Siena, and his wife started cussing out the officials from the stands and had to be escorted out of the building.

I wish I shared the feelings about Maryland's offense.  They still have incredibly long lapses, seemingly every game.  They are very slow to adjust.  Iowa switched to a 2-3 defense last night and it was like Maryland had never seen a zone before.  They were rushing outside shots and never looked into the key area to go opposite to attack.

I am never one to want a coach gone, but I believe Maryland can be so much more than Turgeon has delivered.

I mean Gary had the same problem.  Unless he had reliable snipers on the floor he would fall apart to zones.  When we had Blake and Juan it obviously never worked because we had like 4 NBA players on the floor at any given time, including 2 40% 3 point shooters.  But other seasons when he didn't have those guys it was a bigger struggle.

Maryland shot 43% from the floor and 34% from 3 yesterday.  Not great but not terrible, especially not from 3.  On the other hand, Iowa shot 50%(!!) from 3, 52% from the floor, and had the rebounding advantage, despite Garza sitting out for the last like 8 minutes of the game when Iowa blew the game open.  I'd say that Iowa had a lucky shooting game, but it's literally every game that's like this.  While that 35-7 run wasn't exactly a great offensive showing, IMO it was a lack of ability to defend that fueled it more than offensive shortcomings.

Maryland is 20th in adjusted offense according to Kenpom, and I believe were 11th before this last game, so I think that the stats there agree with my eyes, that the offense hasn't really suffered at all compared to last year despite losing top talents.
