According to Tony Pauline, Ravens defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale has emerged as a hot name in the NFL head coaching rumors

 

 

“A name that I am repeatedly hearing is Don ‘Wink’ Martindale. He’s gonna be the hot name, he’s gonna be the sort of under-the-radar name that every team with a head coaching opening will want to interview. He’s a guy that the players love, he’s a guy that the players respect. [Don Martindale]’s a good coach that’s also a disciplinarian. According to CBS they’re about to lose Culley to Jacksonville as D-Coord.  That means they now need to find new DL and LB coaches.

Ravens defensive staff taking some hits: LB coach Mike Macdonald has been hired as DC at Michigan. DL Joe Cullen interviewing for role on Urban Meyer's staff in Jacksonville. DBs coach Jesse Minter could be headed to Vanderbilt for defensive coordinator job. Could be others, too.

Jaguars not only have talked to Ravens DL coach Joe Cullen, they've also expressed interest in talking to Ravens defensive pass game coordinator Chris Hewitt. Ravens have already lost two defensive assistants and there could be more coming.
