12th penalty today. 135 yards.
Poorly coached team.

Jones does not know how to block in the open field. Penalties are the story in this game

Can't pin this one on the QB situation. The guys that played have to do their job.

Way too many penalties, and not just penalties, dumb penalties that didn't even impact the play. Both of those blindside block penalties late in the game were just so stupid.
And I'm with Ricker, hated that conservative play calling at the end of regulation. Go for the first down there and close the game out.
Tough loss - so I assume they would need to win next week to be bowl eligible?

So based on a quick standings check, they will either get a rematch against Minnesota next week, or they'll play Wisconsin if the Badgers win at Iowa (currently losing 3-0 in the 1st). Either way, they'll be going on the road as the team with the lower win percentage.

There are no eligibility requirements for bowl games this season, at least per the NCAA. Conferences can impose their own eligibility requirements, but I don't think the Big Ten has done that.

Also we've seen Pitt and BC opt out and I'd guess they're not alone so yeah, bowls will be whoever wants to play in one without any particular rhyme or reason

Also it would've been great to get two wins there, but I'll trade an OT loss to Rutgers in exchange for a comfortable win over PSU, even if PSU's in a down year

LB Durell Nchami was named the PFF National Defensive Player of the Week after posting a 95.4 pass-rush grade, 2 strip sacks, and 3 tackles for loss.

I haven’t followed the Terps football team in a long while now but these threads all seem to have the same pattern. “Just have to make a stop here” followed by “terrible loss”.

MD wins Saturday without the late COVID scratches. Might have beat Indiana too.
Real reason to believe the program is trending up finally.

I agree. I was disappointed that LaGendre was so bad but Najarian made up for it.
They lost the game because of all the penalties and that speaks to coaching, which is a concern.
