OL played well. How much of that was us and how much was Dal front 7 is hard to gauge.

Just saw this online...

With Gus Edwards (101), Lamar Jackson (94) and J.K. Dobbins (71) all over 70+ rush yards, the Ravens are the 2nd team to have 3 players hit that threshold in a single game in the last 2 seasons

The other team was the Browns in Week 4, 2020 against ... the Cowboys defense

I know it was the Cowboys, but that finally looked like the team we watched last year. Lamar was back. At least for one game anyway.

70.6 completion percentage. One drop that led to an interception.

Lots of bad passes guys!!

The sideline reporter ...not sure of her name said how great Lamar played several times last time in his post game interview.

That he completed a percentage of passes that is acceptable by every quarterback in the league.

Amazing to read some of the posts.  Before the game, everyone was saying run the ball.  We ran the ball 37 times, right down the Cowboy's throats.  We only threw 17 times, and completed 12, including 2 TD's, and people are still not happy.   I thought Lamar had that spark last night, that we have not seen as much this year.  He was making people miss, out running people.   Perfection is not going to happen.  Damn good happened last night.

It starts with the Oline.  If they are good, Lamar will be very good.

Kudo's to Brown, Bozeman, Mekari, Powers, Fluker and Phillips last night.  Keep it up and Lamar will deliver.

I'll take that run to pass ratio every week, especially when you're running for almost 300 yards.  Sure, it was the porous Cowboys run defense but it was complete domination up front and that's what we were use to last year.  It was great to see.

I think a 60-40 run/pass things works for the Ravens.  Last night was 68/32, but the Cowboys issues lead to the heavy run dose.

Last night felt like the 2019 Ravens offense, and that was accomplished without Andrews.   Lamar had the bounce to his step last night, and that was the best thing, besides a dominant Oline performance

The run pass ratio works if the run is working, but if it's not, this team has to be able to adjust. I'm fine with what we saw last night, the real question is, what happens when it's not working?

Are you just going to keep forcing it on first down? Or are you willing to run play action on first down and pass the ball down field to set up other runs later?

Here's a question...other than kneel downs, has Lamar ever taken a snap behind center?  I keep trying to jar my memory but I'm coming up with nothing.  Why not do that more often?  I know he was weened on the shot gun in college and so far in the pros but I think play action works much better the other way.

You hit on this a lot, and I've slowly come over to your side. But, if they start to throw more often on first down, my caveat would be that it's usually safe throws to "ensure" second down is not 10 or more yards to go.

But you're ok with runs that leave us in 2nd and 10? this idea that a failed pass leaving us in 2nd and 10 is far worse than seeing us at 2nd and 8 or 9 or 10 just seems like a stretch to me.

I'm also OK with us running on 2nd and long. The Cowboys did this effectively because the Ravens would play pass in that situation, as most people would or do. I'm 100% OK with keeping the trend of 50-50 run/pass or even 60/40 run/pass in those situations if we ran more in 2nd and long.

No, and that's why I've come to understand you wanting more first down passes. At least since the days of "give the ball to Jamal" many of us have expected a run on first down far too often. So have opposing defenses, and that's why it begs for more variety. Still, sensibly or not, in general, I'd prefer a 1-2 yard gain on the ground to a long pass with little chance of success.

I agree that if they're going to pass(on any down), it should be a high percentage, move the chains variety.  I just think it's better suited to Lamar's skill set as a passer.  He'll never be Pat Mahomes, throwing dimes 30 yards down the field while moving out of the pocket. Jackson's biggest talent is his legs so I wish Roman, or whoever will be the OC next year would accept that reality and construct a passing game that will best utilize his ability.  That said, Lamar has regressed into bad mechanics this year and it should be one of the priorities in the off season to get him back on track.
