This comes after the Wizards’ G-League affiliate signed Eric Ayala earlier this week.

Reese is in the starting lineup for his debut with the Wizards in DC tonight.Julian Reese is reportedly set to sign a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards. He’d been playing for the Toronto Raptors’ G-League affiliate

Not a pretty debut for JuJu…had as many fouls (6) as he did points and rebounds combined in 28 minutes. But since the Wiz are embracing the tank once again, I’m sure he’ll get more opportunities to improve on that stat line.

Only on a team like the Wizards can a player like JuJu walk inthe door on Sunday and start and play 28 minutes. Good for him....the kid is sort of in the NBA. If Washington qualifies.

I did not watch the game, but since they were playing Houston last night, and given the relatively small lineup the Wiz had on the court, I'd wager he spent most of his 28 minutes guarding Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun. So yeah, I'd say he made it. Welcome to the NBA, kid.

He forced three steals against Şengün, so that's something. Seems like he'll be getting the majority of his minutes at center until Sarr is back from injury.

Just saw highlights from a game 19 years ago with Gist, and Ibekwe... both nice pro careers, never an NBA game.
Even further back, I liked Jamar Smith... same thing.
All similar types to Reese. If nothing else, Reese has last night. Congrats to him.

I didn't watch either. Verizon wants to charge me $16.00 a month for Monumental SPorts channels. I am not a hockey guy and the Wiz aren't worth it.
Good for JuJu, sometimes all you need is a shot. He is getting his, I hope he runs with it.
I did notice he only put up 3 shots, so they probably just asked him to bang under the boards, and play D. He did have 3 steals.

Ibekwe had the weirdest release from the free throw line I have ever seen, but he was a good player,

Better night tonight….9 pts (4/6), 8 reb, 3 ast, and just 1 turnover in 33 minutes at Orlando. And he didn’t foul out.

He becomes the first Wizards rookie to record 20 or more rebounds since Tom Gugliotta in 1993.

Reese recorded the first double-double of his NBA career tonight, with 18 points and a whopping 20 rebounds against Utah.

I am ecstatic for Julian, such a great kid, so loyal. That last season with the Crab Five was unforgettable. I hope he continues to do well.

Yeah, really cool for him. Like Chris says regardless of how long the opportunity lasts he gets to say he played in the league. And I have no idea what the minimum salary is in the NBA for a few games but it's gotta be decent right?

He's on a two-way contract, which are set to $636,435 for this season (half of the rookie minimum). Since he signed during the middle of the year it's pro-rated, but if he's on the roster for the remainder of the year I believe he'd make about $292,760.

And I imagine he got some decent NIL money. And even if his time in the NBA ends up being short he should be able to make a decent living overseas. He should be set pretty well, plus I'm sure Angel is also doing quite well for herself.
Really appreciate Julian staying all 4 years.
