OK , here is the situation

I have 4 solid RBs in FOster, Charles, Mathews, Spiller

I have Vick and Cutler as my QBs and I'm looking to get insurance for VIck. He just scares me as my number #1 QB. So here are the trade options

I trade Charles for Newton and then pick up Shone Green in FA
or I trade Mathews and Cutler for Flacco and Mendenhall(who is due back this week)

I'm pretty torn I mean Cam is the better fantasy QB than Flacco but Joe has stepped it up and Mathews and Mendenhall could end up being close to a wash. Certainly not the drop off from Charles to Shone Green. Of course, the other thing to consider is that even if I trade Charles I still haver Spiller, Foster, and Mathews as solid Rbs so I should just trade Charles for the better pure fantasy QB.

What say you guys????????

Matthews and Cutler for Flacco and Mendy is a steal I think.
I don't like Matthews a whole lot though. Had him last year and he was very frustrating outside of a good game here and there. Battle will probably cut into his carries a little bit to try to keep him healthy.

Flacco is one of the top fantasy QB this season so far, and as long as Smith keeps improving, I think that continues. They look to be more of a vertical passing offense this season than a running one seen in the past. Cam Cam will have a solid season, but he won't duplicate last year I don't think.

Mendy is just a sweetener kinda because PIT will start running the ball a ton if he's healthy.

That being said, this week might be Matthews best game all year, NO is dead last against the run, so his trade value might double this week.

I like the second trade a lot better than the first. Just a much safer deal. I'm a bit lukewarm on Newton, though, so that sways my opinion. He had a great week last week, but from like week 6 of last year through last week, he was just an ok QB.

I hate trading away the best player in a deal, unless I'm dealing from a real position of strength. You are doing so with Foster, Charles, Matthews, and Spiller. Dealing Matthews is your 4th best RB, with 3 real studs (if Spiller continues getting carries) is solid.

I don't love Flacco a ton more than Cutler, so in a vaccuum I would say no to stepping down from Matthews to Mendenhall just to upgrade from Cutler to Flacco. But, since Matthews isn't going to play much for you anyways, the step down is much less.

I'd make the second deal. Hold onto your triumverant of RBs. Mendenhall will still probably be the best 4th RB anyone in the league has, if not best 3rd RB.

Similar situation for me in my work league. I proposed a trade today I expected to be rejected, but it was accepted, so just looking for verification that I'm doing the right thing.

I traded BJGE and Nate Washington for Matt Forte.

We play in a 1 RB / 1 WR / 2 Flex league. Fairly shallow benches because it's only 14 players and we do 2 IDP.

I've got Charles, Spiller, and BJGE as my RBs. Jennings, A. Brown (we get points for return yardage too), L. Moore, and Washington as my WR.

I also could use the extra roster spot, as I need a bye replacement for both my kciker and one IDP next week, and would like to keep the IDP I'm resting.

I think it's a no-brainer. I'm really high on Green-Ellis this year, but I think I'm definitely getting the best player in Forte. Washington I like a lot as well, but with Locker's injury and the fact that I like my other 3 WR better, I don't think I'd play him very much except for injuries and bye weeks.

You'll end up cutting Washington for that roster spot soon. Britt and Wright are the top 2 WR in TEN, and Britt should be back this week. Forte should be much better than BGE, BUT he's been very inconsistent, and had games with no production, not to mention he reinjured that ankle a bit yesterday (I think he went back in later, but still, ankle injuries and all) Not to mention Bush has been gobbling up a lot of goal line stuff, so he's not the sure thing I was hoping he might be.

I wanted to get an elite QB and I had a Brady for CHarles trade vetoed. That pissed me off because not only would I have obviously got a top 5 QB in Brady but I would have been able to pick up Mendenhall who was available in FA until the games started SUN. Then he went to waiver wire where I know he has already been claimed.

Oh BTW.....I could trade Charles for Peyton as well but I mean I personally view Cam as Peytons equal if not better so essentially the same thing I mentioned above.

Yeah, all those things you say are valid. I'm more worried about injuries than Bush.

My team is generally quite consistent, so I'm ok with starting a bit of a boom or bust guy. Really, I may be sending Charles, Spiller, and Forte out most weeks. If one of them goes off, considering my QB is Brady and WR are solid if unspectacular as well, I can pretty much win just based on that.
