I'm going to start watching season 1 soon. This show has passed the word of mouth test for me.

I didn't love the finale of last year, at least not Brody's part, and had some concerns about where the show would be going this season.

Really liked the premier, though. Carrie is a mess, and it felt a bit like 24 bringing her back into the action so quickly, but at least she's not really on top of her game like Jack Bauer would be 30 minutes after being a broken, bearded disaster. The Brody as VP candidate stuff seems to be moving way too fast, I'll like it more if they end up having the current VP just be using Brody to get elected.

On a show full of really great acting performances, the young actress who plays Dana constantly impresses me. She does a great job with that role.

I was thinking the exact same thing RE: 24/Carrie. I still like where it's heading, but also was pretty worried after the finale last season.

I haven't watched the premiere yet but I felt the same way about last years finale. I haven't heard any negative buzz about the new season so I'm guessing things get back on track.

The premiere was a little slow but its setting up some interesting stuff and I'm glad the show is back on the air.

Second episode was good...last scene was amazing, or at least sets up an amazing finish to this year.

I thought they'd wait until at least the very end of this year before having somebody besides the audience know that Carrie has been right all along.

I hated that Brody was able to send a text message in the middle of that meeting of the Joint Chiefs and get it relayed to Nazeer so quickly. That made it pretty impossible to keep suspending disbelief. But, that's a small squabble compared to how excited I am to see where the show goes from here. I feel like either Saul or Brody have to be dead or completely discredited somehow by the end of this season. Saul won't sit on the information he now knows, wanting both to protect the country and see Carrie vindicated (if not reinstated).

Yeah the ending was great. Things should really pick up now.

Episode 3 was a bit strange on several levels.

In Episode 2, when Brody sent the text while in the Pentagon, I thought that was ridiculously unrealistic, but gave it a pass given where this show is heading. I mean, there's no way any communication in and out of that area isn't observed/reported, so it's just not even remotely realistic.

In episode 3, when Brody skips a fundraising event in which the Vice President, and Presidential Candidate is there in attendance to witness Brody himself speak, that was just way too far off the crazy/unrealistic scale for me. Down right goofy, IMO. Not only does he do this, but he does it so he himself can personally escort the suicide bomb maker from Gettysburg to a safe house. You know, because an increasingly high profile asset to Al Qaeda (or whatever their fictional terrorist group is called) is exactly the right person to make this happen... oh, and kills him in the process.

Other than that, I think the way the Carrie situation is playing out is fair, and in general this doesn't ruin the show for me or anything, but it is down right goofy if you ask me. Definitely over the top.

It'll be interesting to see where the intelligence on Brody goes. They've already told us in the preview for Episode 4 that only a very select few will know about it.

What's funny is that I agree with pretty much everything you say but I still really enjoyed the episode. Weird.

Haha, yeah, I hear ya, and actually agree. I enjoyed it too, but just wanted to pick nits.

Man are they ever pushing the pace this season. I can't believe we're only 4 episodes in and Brody is already in custody.

Just absolute breakneck speed here. Gonna be real interesting to see what they do with the rest of the season and series in general. I feel like we could be seeing a pretty significant shift in focus.

Yep - pretty awesome. I was prepared to be annoyed at how long everything played out.

Wow... just wow at the pace of this season and how awesome this show is.

Damian Lewis and Claire Danes both put on award winning performances in last night's episode. Amazing.

They've done in 4 episodes what other (good) shows would spread over 2 or 3 seasons.

I have no idea where they are going from here, but I've been absolutely enthralled with what's happened this year, and I was skeptical about what they were going to be able to do to follow up on last season.

I too was a bit skeptical, but have been overwhelmed with how awesome it's been so far. And again, just great acting performances.

Yeah the performances have all been great.

Really the only thing I don't like about the show is the opening credits. Just brutally terrible. I'm surprised since Dexter has such a great intro and other old Showtime shows like Weeds have good intros as well.

Yeah, not a fan either. One thing I've noticed is that the jazzy style to the opening credits is the same jazzy style of music they've shown Claire's character listening to on a number of occasions.
