It feels like Booker should be in the game, but all the snubs are probably better off, staying home and staying safe.

Do you like the picked teams?
I think I prefer the East vs West format.

Honestly, I forgot the game was tonight.
I prefer the East-West.
I don’t like calling them Lebron’s team and KD’s team

Definitely prefer picking teams. The draft and team captain elements are way more compelling. Like, do people care about the conferences?
Yeah, more interesting to me if it's the conferences vs random teams.

Why? And random isn't a good choice of words on your part. The process of teams being drafted is less random than teams being assigned based on whatever conference they happen to play in. And again, very few peoples care about conferences like that in the NBA. And for those that do, well why?

Because I liked that there were two separate conferences that played the majority of their games within their respective conference (obviously still the same) and there was a level of conference pride played out in the AS game. Being drafted to teams is just a game of pick up. In a game that means nothing, they somehow managed to make it mean even less.

Maybe there was conference pride for people that actually are fans of a team. You aren't an example of that as far as I know so this seems odd. I don't think there was significant conference pride among players either. So this basically seems like a this is how it's been so this is how it should continue type of deal.Because I liked that there were two separate conferences that played the majority of their games within their respective conference (obviously still the same) and there was a level of conference pride played out in the AS game. It was more interesting to me vs this.

I think plenty of people care more about their favorite player than they do about a conference, so for many, the current structure adds more meaning. Rooting for LeBron or Durant, or if there's not a big preference there, your other favorite players, is plenty meaningful for a game that at the end of the day is much more fun than serious.
The draft itself though is way more interesting than what existed prior and then the game is what it is.
