Tough break for Lakins. I think he was feeling real confident with that 12 6 breaking ball, and then threw one that didn't break down enough, and BAM! So, he lost his favorite pitch and really couldn't find a good pitch left in his repertoire.

Well, he really shouldn't have swung at that, imo - with a 2-0 count and a low breaking pitch - the 3rd straight. It was a very easy play. Hays really needs to be more selective, imo. It seems like Mountcastle has made the adjustments to be more selective, and Hays hasn't.

Rays have gone up 7-6... still have 2 on, none out in the bottom of the 5th.

I think he could have a place potentially. Control this year has been lacking. Did have big k numbers at AAA. But yeah, he's 30 and getting first real ML time for a reason.

Said most of the year that he did. Now I think he's likely a DFA this offseason. Hard to see him on our 40 man in November. Maybe they sign him to a minor league deal.
