Leceister!

The 2nd goal from Vardy on the deflection was awesome! That was like a hockey goal!

That was sick.

Very happy to see City take an early loss as a Liverpool fan. Also as someone who wants to see Salah regain the golden boot, I'm annoyed at the amount of penalty kick goals put in by Vardy, this was his first goal in open play. I wouldn't be opposed for the calculation of the golden boot that penalty kicks are excluded EXCEPT for those also generated by the player taking the kick (perhaps could include any goal created by the penalty a player drew even if they didn't take the kick).

Mashed, I agree. Not sure how to discount penalty kick goals but they do need to somehow differentiate between run of the play and direct free kicks versus penalites.

Seems like Liverpool and Manchester United have had more successful days

Crazy day. United were terrible. Harry Maguire was absolutely horrendous. He cost $80m. Pogba was bad. Luke Shaw should be in League One.

Everton! What a thrilling start. Riverside Darby in 2 weeks.

First time Liverpool has given up 7 goals since 1963.

On a nothing warmup, definitely worried about his future now.

Yes there is certainly some uncertainty with what kind of future Pulisic is going to have. Immense talent but these ongoing muscle problems need to be straightened out.

Gotta think Ole is on thin ice at United.

Had no idea that's where Demba Ba was, I'm happy to see him still scoring. Loved that 11-12 Newcastle squad.

Agree. But I think the root problem is they keep guys around who aren't performing that well and maybe a locker room cancer.  Yes Pogba I am talking about you for one.

Part of the problem is that I believe Man U has relied too much on their name recognition the last several years and have not gone out and really got the guys they need.

Southampton aiming to go top of the top-flight for the first time since September 17, 1988. Even if only for a few hours. Saints one of five sides who could lead the league this weekend... Newcastle will go 4th if they win. #SOUNEW with

Random question. With these national matches going on, be it WC qualifiers, or Int'l friendlies, UEFA Champions etc... Will players miss their EPL games for these? Doesn't seem like the NHL in an Olympic year where the NHL just takes a 3 week break.

No games.  International break.  So they get a break from their team, to play more games for their other team.

So for example, would Pulisic would be expected to play for Chelsea tomorrow? But if he had played for the U.S. yesterday, would he sit out the Chelsea game tomorrow for load management, or something? Was his EPL commitment that writes him a paycheck, the reason he didn't play an Int'l friendly?
