He was activated with Kline optioned.

Carson Fulmer said he threw a 35-pitch bullpen yesterday. Went well. Said last few weeks have been "definitely unexpected, pretty crazy." #orioles

i wonder if he will be the 5th starter.   We have Lopez, Means, Kremer and Akin.  There is a spot open.

Hyde says he will be used as a 1-2 inning reliever.

He's pretty much failed as a starter - might as well use him in relief - especially considering his impressive SO rate as a reliever.

Given how BP's are used today, there is a lot of value in guys that can come in for a few innings every couple of days.  IU really don't remember seeing Fullmer, so it will be interesting to get a look.

That was fast:

- RHP Carson Fulmer has been claimed on outright waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Too bad.  His slider was real.  You could see why he was once so highly regarded.  Would have liked to see them spend more time working with him.

Just saw this. I’m surprised. Really like his stuff.

I dunno, I mean if they were going to expose him to waivers that fast, it almost feels like they saw something and something GLARING was wrong right away.

I'd think if you're going to take a chance on a guy with tools like that, you take a chance, not just a token...but some guys just aren't going to work for whatever reason, skill, mindset, work ethic, personality...it could be a dozen reasons why, and for them to reach a decision that fast on whatever it was is unfortunate and not a great sign.

This explains it. Tried to pass him through so they didn’t have to commit a 40 spot.

Yea, clearly there's a reason he's been on 350 teams this season alone!

Ah. Took him as a long term project and tried to sneak him through. Coulda told you that wasn't going to work. There were too many people following when he was cut and where he signed.

He's 200 times better than Cole Sulser. Oh well.

Mark Williamson had a good career here. Long arm in the pen. Pitch a few innings every couple of days. Come in and toss 4+ when needed, and then get an extra day or two off. Was even part of history in 91 and part of the 4 pitcher no-hitter, that he was the front end and emergency starter.
