Seems like the biggest no brainer of the off-season. Sounds like he loves it here and we’ll actually get the defense that we signed him for in the first place!

Agreed, but the Orioles seem to dump contracts, every off season. Iglesias is an Elias hire so maybe that matters.

Zero chance the option is declined, but I think there is a chance he's traded. Selling high on him after what is looking like, by far, the best season of his career but may only end up being about 40 games played would be a wise move, IMO.

The same discussion was had about Villar last year. I do think Iglesias is different, but with the Orioles you never know.

Villar was due a $9M or so salary. Iglesias is a third of that. Iglesias' 2020 is also looking like much more of an outlier than Villar's 2019.
