Miller was spot on and a funny guy. Wish he still posted, even if he didn't share the inside info.

Absolutely. Just checked his twitter. Looks like his son is a freshman baseball player at Gillman. Thats awesome but it makes me feel old.

Wonder if he has told him the Buzz Light Year story? Haha, one of the best.

Or the fact that he randomly and correctly IDd Cindy in a Harford County parking lot. Both classic.

I don't think I was generally considered part of the lollipop guild. I'm offended! Lol

Lol my bad. Who was the guy with the mega man avatar.

I do miss Sammy. He's still around, but definitely was a great addition to both here and OH when he posted.

I miss him too. He's the one who started the meme of Mark Reynolds eating sunflower seeds over on OH. That thing got so much mileage there was a blurb about it in The Sun.

Bigbird claimed to have some insider info.  When it didn't come to pass he was called out on it and lost his mind and left.

Belkast did everything but guarantee we were signing Teixeira.  Poor Trea has never been the same.

I left OH because of Os Fan From NY, the guy that used all the different colors.  He called me out for crapping on MIMS (I turned out to be right) and I just left.

Also, people keep kissing Drungo's ass.  In my opinion he's a condescending prick, but to each their own I guess.

I always felt that he, Can of Corn, and the Fred McGriff guy (Milligan, IINM) were, if not the same person, cut from a similar cloth. Milligan isn’t quite as dry/wry as the other two, but still, definitely birds of a feather, so to say.

There was another fellow, Malike, who was somewhat of the same vein, maybe even more acerbic/cantankerous than those three. Not sure what happened to him, though; haven’t seen him there in over a year or so. Too bad...I actually got a kick out of his smackdowns of random posters.

Also: anyone else remember Pente’s “big scoop” in, I wanna say around ‘05 or ‘06, about signing a big lefty who allegedly threw 100 mph? I mean, he was acting like this was the 2nd coming. Turns out Franklyn Gracesqui never threw a pitch for the O’s (nor did he actually throw 100 mph), was out of the organization the following season, and no one ever mentioned it again.

Wow. Good times.

Firestone was a damn goof.

With all due respect.

Firestone is kind of goofy.

I remember him expressing excitement in a radio interview over the possibility of the Orioles re-acquiring LJ Hoes from the Astros.

Google, I was trying to find out more about what happened to OH, One day it was there, and the next day, it was there, but suspended, and just part of Tony's message was displayed on the sidebar of preview messages.

I saw the link, clinked on it, and think I found a much nicer and better place. It did feel eerie at first, as so much of it mirrored the OH.

But I give you kudos, for a nicely run place here.

Yeah, Chris used the same program to set up the board as OH used to use, so then when some of us started drifting over and checking it out (there were a few months of cross posting and just kinda feeling out the vibes) when we would want to talk about stuff we found ourselves creating really similar threads and styles and layouts because it was what we knew and were comfortable with. That was on us more as posters than Chris, he kinda let things happen organically, but like me for instance, the main Orioles section over there was always too busy and the sky is falling for me. So I lived in the prospects/minors section when I was still out seeing guys and would kinda report back what I saw or heard through people I knew, and I liked the non-sports sections a lot, so when I got over here it was just habit to create and hang in those threads over here. So I'll take full blame for a lot of that eerie vibe you got.

Hi all --

I'm another former OH poster/lurker (Matt) from the old days. More of the latter, really. Can't really see myself posting on the OH anymore after what Tony pulled, so I'm happy to see lots of familiar faces here!
