For Maryland, right now I'm thinking about...

1) If the ACC, SEC, Big 12 play...  will I lose transfers?

2) What am I able to do to continue to develop the players on the roster? Michigan practiced last night after the Big Ten announcement. Still have to use this time to get better.  Also to further build your internal culture as a program.

2a) Very large recruiting focus.

3) If there is Spring ball, will be there be early enrolls that provide further depth?

4) If there is not Spring ball...  looking for clarification for those where 2020 would have been their Senior years. Will they be allowed back for '21? Will overall team scholarship levels be increased for a year?

This hurts everybody in some ways, is the general consensus that the cancellation is good for the MD program overall due to the talent gap we would've brought into this season?

I don’t think that is the way to look at it.  Kids need to play to get better,  They live and dream to get on the field.  To me, this is bad for everyone.

If they can actually play in the spring, I think the postponement could give MD an edge. They aren't heavy on players who are expected to be draft prospects like some other Big Ten teams, who are highly likely to see those guys opt out. That could even the playing field for them a bit and help them more competitive in games they might not otherwise have had much chance in.

An all-out cancellation of the season, which unfortunately I think will be the ultimate result, doesn't help them. Like Mike B said, they can't really improve if they don't play.

This is a very strange time, but I have a hard time seeing a spring football season, The kids that get injured, would likely lose the fall season

I don't see how a spring season is possible for anyone.   Asking kids to play a spring season that wouldn't likely end until the end of May or early June, then turn around and play again in the fall?  I just don't think that's the smartest idea.  If you aren't playing this fall, just cancel it and hope things are better next fall.

The point about McNair is definitely something that's resonated with me, they've got more incentive to keep their players safe than maybe any other school in the country

If they play a spring season I think the emphasis will be on staying in the divisions, both for continuity and to try to minimize travel. Depending on how many games they decide to play, there might only be one or two cross-divisional games for each team.

Pines is a super impressive guy.  Maryland is in very good hands.

What a mess. Are they gonna try to be eligible for the CFB playoff if they start on Thanksgiving?

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I don't think there's even enough weeks in Nov/Dec/Jan to make that happen, right?

They’d have time for about 4-5 games, and that’s assuming no COVID issues, before Playoff games start. But in reality the CFP would want matchups set by mid-Dec, so maybe only 3 games. No way that’s enough time to build a Playoff worthy resume.

Not a fan of this new commissioner. He needs to get everyone on the same page and come up with a plan.
