I'm interested in the dynamics of the department with Poitevint as Executive Director of International Baseball, Ferreria as the Executive Director of International Recruiting, and Dave Stockstill as Director International Scouting.
What I like, is that regardless of the age of Poitevint and Ferreira, that Duquette is adding accomplished leadership to the organization. Hopefully they can rapidly improve things, and help mentor some possible replacements.

With all of these changes in the front office, one would have to think that the Stockstills' collective responsibilities have lessened, right?

According to Roch, Poitevint will be in Taiwan to introduce Chen in a press conference next week.

A press conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan at 11 a.m. (Taiwan time) on Jan. 16 at the Sherwood Taipei Hotel (http://www.sherwood.com.tw/). Ray Poitevint, the Orioles' new executive director of international baseball, will represent the club.

Maybe some day the Orioles will publish an organization chart. But no matter who works for whom, I think the new attention to international player development is a great move, long overdue. Maybe Duquette isn't just another run-of-the-mill former GM after all.

I think Duquette has neutered Dave Stockstill. John Stockstill, who by most reports is a good professional, appears to retain his responsibilities.
