The interesting thing (although it would SUCK) is how this would shake out if there were no 2020 college football season.

Penn States Frierermuth is a Gronk clone according to Ravenswire. The writer Mathews is saying he fills a big need and then speculates that Andrews will leave because we can’t afford to pay him after 2021.

Let's hope we are doing that in the early 30's

Have the Ravens picking Jalen Waddle, all of 5'10 and 180 pounds.
Please God no. Take a big, physical red zone target. No more gadgety speed guys.

So I was looking at Walter Football's Mock Draft
In their main portion they have us taking Bama's OT Alex Leatherwood at #26
FYI Pitts, Chase, D Smith, all went in the top 10 and Waddle went #18 to Miami.
I think Leatherwood would be a good option for us but he's certainly fluff with Stanley and Brown.
Would you be willing to trade Brown? If so ...what would you want as a return?

This article mentions that he thinks that we have a bigger current need at WR, but I wouldn't really agree with using a first round pick on one. I don't think the Ravens have historically done very much to develop wide receivers, and I do not want to use an early draft pick on one unless it's such a glaring pick that we'd be stupid not to. (e.g. a consensus top-10 pick falling to us at 30 or something like that)
Tight ends on the other hand play right into the Ravens scheme, and the Ravens have a fairly strong and lengthy history of developing tight ends. If we don't go for a defensive lineman (edge rusher is probably my first choice for a first round pick) I think that tight end is our next area of need. Given that first round interior OL picks are very uncommon, and I would want a lineman that can snap a shotgun more than anything else, I can't see us using a first rounder on a center or guard.

I'd have no problem if we had 5 Andrews types and 0 WRs. Whether its Gronk, Andrews, Heaps, Pitts etc these guys are able to line up all over the field. If you keep a guy like Brown just to blow the top off of the defense that would be fine. And I think that Lamar benefits from the bigger receivers.

I can't see going with a high WR pick when the Ravens have not even scratched the surface with Boykin, Duvernay and Proche. TE, OL, pass rush or Safety would make more sense to me. Maybe get a WR in a later round. Maybe even another RB for depth when Ingram goes.

I mean, do we really need a prototype #1 WR? I think that Brady's best seasons were with a possession guy and 1 or 2 elite tight ends. Frankly outside a couple years with Randy Moss I don't think Brady had a WR that would be a true #1 no matter what QB was was throwing to him. But whenever he had healthy Gronk, he was pretty much Superman.
I was honestly puzzled at the Ravens dropping Hurst last offseason. He is probably the fastest tight end in the league and his hands are much better than Andrews. I don't feel qualified to discuss his route-running, but I wonder if it is subpar, because all of his other tools are good enough to be a #1 receiving TE.

Love to have Pitts! He can play TE or Slot.
