With this coming week off, Maryland ends their September play 2-2. In October, the Terps will begin Conference play. 3 of their 4 games will be against their ACC Atlantic foes.

October schedule:
10/6 Wake Forest: Wake is 3-1, beating Army 49-37. Up-Next: Duke
10/13 @ Virgina: The Cavs are 2-2, losing at TCU 27-7. Up-Next: La.Tech
10/20 NCST: The Wolfpack is 3-1, beating Citadel 52-14. Up-Next: Miami
10/27 @ Boston College: The Eagles are 1-2, losing to Northwestern 22-13. Up-Next: @Clemson

Each of those 4 games could go either way for the Terps. You would expect MD to be healthy and prepared for Wake's option offense on the 6th. With an additional week of practice, you would think the Terps could build off what they did positive at West VA.

I think we beat Wake at home and BC on the road.

Probably lose to State, although I certainly won't look at that one as an automatic loss.

UVA on the road is a toss-up.

Yep, no doubt it has been an issue. I'll be disappointed if Maryland does not win 3 of these 4 games.

Just to further illustrate my concerns with this issue, the Terps have turned the ball over more than any FBS team so far this season (13 times), and they are tied for 114th in FBS with a -7 turnover differential. This team is not good enough to overcome that and win games. They're fortunate to be 2-2, thanks to the fact that they played an FCS team and Temple managed to shoot themselves in the foot that day more than the Terps did. And the majority of the giveaways have been fumbles, so you can't put this all on Perry Hills' inexperience. Just plain carelessness.

If the Terps can improve their ball control, they have a shot to win all of these games. I was quite impressed at how competitive they were against West Virginia and am glad to see them making progress.

Too many mistakes have hurt them all year. If they can cut down on those, there's actually the potential of them being bowl-eligible before November (and that's their best shot at a bowl, given their November schedule).
