Darryll Pines will be the new UMCP president starting July 1st. He's been at UM since 1995 and currently serves as dean of the engineering school. One notable thing in his bio is that he seems to have been a very effective fundraiser for the engineering school, which would certainly be great if he has some impact on athletics in that regard too. All in all, sounds like a solid choice.
