Tom Brady has arguably had the greatest career of any QB or any player ever.

However, if Tom Brady was drafted by my team, Washington, I am not confident at all that he even ends up in the GOAT discussion, let alone the clear GOAT for so many.

Football is just so situation dependent for QB's.

Putting it another way, I don't think Brady is equivalent to Jordan or LeBron in terms of talent. Brady needed a better situation around him to become what he did compared to those guys. But again, his career has been incredible and obviously he's been great.

That's very true, but it is also because football is the consummate team sport.  In basketball there are only 5 guys on the court and they don't change after one team scores.  Same with Hockey.  Baseball is basically your batter vs. your pitcher.  Football is the only sport where you really rely on a number of other people to be successful. It is the only sport where you can lead your team to a score, and then a whole other set of guys comes out to stop the other team.  The QB is probably the most important guy on the team, but he can't control everything that happens on the field.  He can't stop the other team's offense from going right down the field.  Lebron James can drain a 3 and come back and block a shot.  The QB can't throw a great TD pass and come back to intercept the other guy.  You need a full team.  And what you say is true.  Johnny Unitas was recognized as the best QB to ever play the game for a long time.  If he had stayed with the Steelers who drafted him and were a terrible team at the time, maybe nobody would even know his name right now.

Romo is annoying

I’ve been saying that ever since he did one of the Ravens games this year. Prior to that he was very Xs and Os and seemed like you could learn something from him. Now he sounds like he doesn’t even do his homework before games, and just saying random stuff, one cliche after another, and just not making any sense.

I mean, when the streaker ran on the field he said “is that you down there Jim?” Huh? He’s obviously right next to you in the booth numb nuts.

Romo went from one of the best to the absolute worst in one season.

You're right.  But in order to beat KC in the playoffs, and they aren't going away in the AFC, you have to figure out a way to get pressure on Mahomes without selling out on the blitz.  That and you have to be able to throw the ball offensively.  I don't believe you can just use a run first offense to win.  Teams sell out on your running game and dare you to pass.  You have to take advantage of that.  And defensively, you need to be able to generate some pressure without blitzing.  Tampa Bay put together a defensive game plan that shut them down.

We have to beat KC anywhere, be it the playoffs or the regular season.  We can't do that right now it seems.  Mahomes really exposes the weaknesses in our defense, and the points he puts up puts Jackson in a bind because we can't just play keep-away ball control offense like we usually do.

I strongly  believe that our defense last season was propped up by the fact that they only had to play like 20 minutes a game.  This year Earl Thomas goes crazy, and like it or not he was one of the highest graded FS in 2019, and suddenly our entire secondary looks shaky, and we still can't generate a pass rush without sending in a linebacker.

The Ravens haven't really prioritized edge rushers, but we really need someone that can step up there.  Failing that we need a FS.  But I don't know if you can hope to draft another Ed Reed or Earl Thomas.  The Ravens have had great safety play for the past 20 years, between Reed and Weddle and then Thomas.  I feel like last year was one of the first years where they didn't have that, and it really made the rest of our secondary look bad IMO.

IMO if we can find a way to get a top shelf FS then we can afford to send a linebacker and take our chances with cover-1 with a blitzer.  But not until that happens.

With the O line KC had last night we'd have a much better chance of winning.

I've heard a few guys from various NFL broadcast teams mention how it's more challenging calling the games this season because they're not getting all the same access to players and coaches in the days leading up to each game as they would in non-COVID times.  I wonder if that's playing a part in why Romo seems less "insightful" this year than before?  Even going back to off-season camps, when they can make visits and watch teams practice a bit.  I'd guess he does a lot of homework that way, marrying his own knowledge of the game and what he's seeing, with tidbits of team-specific "scouting".

Anyway, he didn't bother me that much this year... but I did get a feeling that he wasn't as clairvoyant and on top of the Xs and Os as he's been in prior years.

He's just figured out people will pay him big money to just talk. Doesn't matter what he says.

Trade Mahomes for Watson.

No, you move Mahomes to TE, and draft Mac Jones.

#75 and the Oline held like crazy all night and they still could not keepthe Bucs off Mahomes.

Mahomes looked really confused at times.   Pressure makes even the best disappear.

KC played with fire all year. Good team but closer to a 12 win team than 15 wins. TB was the higher rated DVOA team and proved why last night.
