Yeah that was big. They'll show that one in his intro reel on draft night.

The fumble was very unusual for Bama. It’s is a great game so far.

This is a big drive for Alabama.  This is a chance to get a working margin heading for the half.

This game turned when OSU couldn't get in the end zone when they had a 1st and Goal after the targeting call. I'd say it's already lights out. Even if OSU can put up more than 18 points in the 2nd Half, they can't stop Alabama to do anything about the deficit.

Oh, and OSU hasn't tackled crap tonight. Very few times has an Alabama ball carrier gone down on first contact.

Alabama burned nearly half the 3rd Qtr on that opening drive. Even though they only got a FG, I've seen enough to call this one over.

It certainly looks like it,

Going undefeated in the challenges this season has provided is very impressive

That was a quick answer by the Buckeyes. Still, they just haven't proven their defense can get it done tonight, so I'm not convinced they can come back.

Alabama is the more talented team but pretty disappointed in how Ohio State played.

Alabama may have the most dominant offense that I have seen in CFB,  They could do everything.  Ohio State could not come close to stopping them

I listened to a FiveThirtyEight podcast a couple weeks ago, and found the article that accompanies it. This is about all sports in general in 2020, but after last night certainly applies to college football. In a year that saw pretty much every sport disrupted to some degree, and perhaps could have influenced the ultimate outcome of the season, 2020-21 was about the "chalkiest" year in recent memory. Consider:

  • In the NHL, the preseason favorite Tampa Bay Lightning (+675) won the Stanley Cup.
  • In the WNBA, the co-favorite Seattle Storm (+450) won the championship.
  • In the NBA, the champion Los Angeles Lakers (+450) ranked No. 2 in preseason, only slightly behind the favored L.A. Clippers (+425).
  • In MLB, the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+385) were also No. 2 before the season, narrowly trailing the New York Yankees (+375).
  • In the NFL, the preseason favorite Kansas City Chiefs (+450) have the best record in the league and are currently by far the most likely Super Bowl winner.
  • And in college football, the top three teams in preseason — Clemson (+275), Ohio State (+275) and Alabama (+500) — have a combined 94.4 percent chance of winning the national championship, according to ESPN’s simulations.

I'm surprised Alabama was that far behind Clemson and OSU odds-wise, but the #3 did prevail in college football. The author of the article found the closest year to 2020 going back to 2000 was actually 2000 itself. The Yankees (preseason #1), Lakers (#2) and NJ Devils (#3) all won their respective league titles, but the Ravens were only #11 before the season. The sports odds history site only goes back to 2001 for college football, but the 2000 champion, Oklahoma, was ranked just 19th in the preseason AP and 20th in the Coaches.

So rather than a topsy-turvy sports world producing totally unforeseen champions, it seems like all the pandemic did was prevent preseason underdogs from breaking through.

Sure look they broke every covid guideline there is.

Talk about irresponsible in the middle of this 2nd wave that has hospitals in multiple locations out of bed space and portable hospitals have been stood up.
