Playoff should be expanded to 8 teams.  Have thought all along that 8 is the magic number.  4 was a good place to start.  Time to bump it up and get some new programs involved.

With the understanding that for the 2020 season it's a "best effort" anyway.

I totally agree.   I would be fine with having an 8 team tourney and canceling all the other bowl games, because of the pandemic.

I'd be fine with an 8-team playoff but most years it'd be just be 6 teams wasting their time before we get Alabama-Clemson round 37

If this season has shown us anything, it's that we don't need to know the date and opponents for a regular season game a decade in advance. A great football game can come together in a matter of days.

If I could be the czar of college football for one season, one of the things I'd love to try to implement would be what I mentioned in an earlier post about saving the last two weeks of the season for open scheduling of non-conference games. If done right, it could almost serve as de facto opening rounds of the CFP, potentially making it much more inclusive.

Monken: Army 'should not be left out' of bowls

Now they won't be. They will replace Tennessee as WVU's opponent in the Liberty Bowl.

The Hurricanes just can't seem to get over these late-season fades to get back on track to being a national power. Hope D'Eriq King will be okay. His announcement that he'll return was reason to think maybe next year will finally be Miami's time to make a move, although they seemed to play better tonight after he left the game.

I really haven't watched much at all of bowl season this year, but aside from the Playoff games tonight's Florida/Oklahoma game is one I don't plan to miss. These could be the two best teams not in the Playoff.

I'll give the Sooners the edge here....they've been lights out since the start of OT in the Texas game, while the Gators might be a bit down since the ugly loss to LSU and the heartbreaker against Alabama.

Graham Mertz really struggled for Wisconsin after his hot start in the first two games, but he finished with a solid showing today against Wake Forest. He'll have to be more consistent for them next season with Jack Coan transferring.

Oklahoma is cruising, up 34-13 halfway through the 3rd. Would love to see them with hey way they're playing now have a shot in the Playoff, but that KSU loss did them in.
