Do you think he should have stepped down? I know people weren't happy about his role as EP and how he seemed to use that to his advantage to get the hosting job.
He ran his mouth and I suspect was told to step down
Richards also called his female co-host a "booth slut." He also made comments about her friends' weight.

I think that all of the indications of him pretty much doing this as a smokescreen and making himself the host is damning enough to make him step down (more so than the stuff from his podcast). Like, it's looking pretty clear that this was the plan all along.
The funny thing is that if he just...took over once filming picked back up (after Trebek's death) and never did the "search for a new host," we wouldn't be in this situation. Instead he did this bad-faith search, and here we are.
The weird thing is that HE REALLY WAS THE BEST CHOICE!

I think he's likely who ends up being the pick now. I'd be shocked if it's anyone else. He's as safe as it gets.

The Press Box (a great Pod already) interviewed Mcnear today to talk about her article. Something to keep an eye on for the new episodes this fall is Jeopardy taped a week (5)of episodes yesterday with Richards after this article had already came out. These episodes are kind of a big deal because Matt Amodio had won 18 straight and is already the 3rd highest earner of all time. They obviously can't redo the episodes but they don't want Richards in there either. Will they try and photo shop some other hosts into the episodes?

Looks like they edited it so that the camera doesn't show him. But it's his voice.

Jennings is working as rotating expert on the Chase, and is pretty funny guy.
