In late September, it is clear that the O's are not ready for their 2012 season to end.
Whenever the year does end, we will lock the existing threads in the Player Talk forum. At that point, you will be welcomed to start new threads (example 2013 Jones), and begin discussing / projecting that player for the next year.
In our Minor League forum, TheOrioleReport recently did a good job of capping the 2012 season for many prospects within the organization.
For players where there has been a fair amount of discussion on their 2012 seasons (Schoop, Kline, Marin, Bridwell, Esposito, for example), you can start new threads (2013 Schoop) if you want, and I'll close the previous threads.
For players where there been minimal previous discussion, just use the existing threads.

You're the guy who has to manage all this, so it's no skin off my nose... but I would think having diff subforums might be easier than expecting posters to follow some naming convention because, well, you know...So, will the current threads be relabeled to begin with 2012? Or will there be diff subforums for seasons? Or what?

No, won't bother with relabeling the current threads. Won't add another sub-forum. Think it will be fairly easy to figure out.
