That sucks...So, they are removing the tumor and testing to see if its cancer I assume??Coach Williams is in surgery as I type to remove a tumor from his kidney..Hoping for the best.
Or is this more of a mass that they just want to remove but there is no cancer worry?

Not sure of the details yet, but did read his prognosis is "good".

Great news.
Still have the tumor in the left kidney to worry about, but assuming that one is benign like this one, he shouldn't miss any games this season.

The tumor in the second kidney was the same type, and therefore also benign.
Williams has been given the "all clear" to return to practice, and he will miss no time this season.

- Was experiencing heartburn
- Went in for his annual physical
- Had ultrasound and CT scan
- Tumors were discovered
- Was told there was 95% chance tumors were cancerous
- Has been cleared but will be monitored
- Called it a whirlwind 24 days
- Not up to working full time yet
- Instead, opts to stay home in mornings and then works in the afternoon
- Has been concerted effort to slow down
- Told the team at 10 PM the night before the first surgery so it would not leak out via social media
- Plans on coaching 6 to 10 more years assuming health allows him to
- Mike Krzyzewski called three times and Jeff Bzedlik sent ice cream
