I would never pay for an iPhone, but I got one for work.  They're OK, but I greatly prefer the value and interface of Android phones.  With my own money right now, I'd go Pixel 3a.  The iPhone is the only phone I've owned that had a physical part fail during the life of the phone (the vibrate function in this case), which doesn't surprise me given my history of negative experiences with Apple.

Samsung does not seem to be worth the money anymore, but I don't understand why anyone would pay that much for a phone.  Maybe the s10e makes sense, but from a real world usage perspective there's no reason to spend $1000s on a phone anymore.

I got my wife a MacBook 5 years ago. Got mine a year later. Love them, so I had to try iPhone after years of android. I can’t go back. My wife has a pixel and seems indifferent about it.

Apple sucked me in. I’m trapped. However I’ll never be a guy that needs the newest thing. My phone is the 8s and I’ll probably have it until the 13 or 14 comes out. Then I’ll buy a 10. And the way they hold up for me is worth the extra money.

There is a deal going on through Best Buy right now.

Basically, I can get the Galaxy s10+ for like 600 or something like that.

I just can't decide if I want to change...plus, I really need to keep my text messages and some things like that and it is apparently a pain in the ass to do that if you are going from iOS to Android.
