One of Robinson's teammates, 4-star DT Marcus Bradley, is trending hard towards Maryland now. Breaking through at QO would be a major coup, something Maryland has never really been able to do. Adam McLean is one of their only recruits from there. While John Papuchis is no longer on the staff, have to assume this is his work coming to fruition.

What are you talking about? Zack Kerr, Alex Twine, Travis Hawkins, and Foffie Bazzie, all QO grads have played at UMD. Only Twine stayed all 4 years.

Locksley is making inroads.  If the wins follow, he could make Maryland a good place to play.

In the last 10 years, the Terps have only landed 3 recruits from QO. Fofie Bazzie (2017), Adam McLean (2015), and Alex Twine (2011). Bazzie and Twine were both 3-star prospects, and Maryland was Twine's only FBS offer. McLean was the only blue-chip recruit during that period. You have to go all the way back to Hawkins in 2009 to find another blue-chip QO recruit, and he left the team after one season.

2 blue-chip recruits from QO in the last 12 years isn't a breakthrough, but 2 in one recruiting class would be.

You fail to mention Kerr. Who is in the NFL now. Your original quote didn’t say anything about blue chip recruits, only said UMD is starting to break into QO.

No love for former QO coach Dave Mencarini who was on staff until mid season last year?

Bradley excluded Maryland from his Top 3 (LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee), but 247's Crystal Ball is still trending towards the Terps. Not sure what to read into that, if anything.

Also, Robinson hinted at a commitment on the offensive side of the ball that'll be coming soon. Could be 4-star WR Charles Montgomery, who narrowed his Top 2 to Maryland and Florida today.

Maryland has landed 4-star DT Marcus Bradley, so his exclusion of Maryland from his Top 3 was just his way of having a little fun. He's currently ranked as the 10th-best DT in the country, and the 9th-best player in the state of Maryland. He'll likely fit in Jon Hoke's 3-4 defensive scheme as a 3-technique. Elijah Brooks and Brawley Evans led the way on his recruitment.

He chose Maryland over offers from Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, among many others. He's on track to be an early enrollee next spring.

Have any local prospects de-committed from places away? I read that it was becoming an issue and concern for a lot of guys, and with restrictions, uncertainty, and wanting to stay closer to home in case we do get locked down again, that a bunch of kids were backing out of further away commitments and signing closer to home, rather than just national powers.

Locks is making headway.  Nice to see him land some of the higher rated kids.  I especially like seeing the high rated lineman commit.  Improving the lines is step one in becoming relevant.

Locks is a recruiter.

Maryland's 2021 class is currently ranked as the 12th-best in the country, and 5th-best in the Big Ten. 4 of the class' top 5 recruits are defensive linemen.

5-star Dual-Threat QB Caleb Williams (Washington, DC) is set to visit College Park tomorrow. Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Penn State are the primary other teams involved in his recruitment, with the Bulldogs and Tigers in the lead.

Williams named LSU, Maryland, and Oklahoma as his Top 3 schools today. We've seen Locksley pull off some recruiting stunners before, but pulling Williams away from the Sooners would be a miraculous feat at this point.

Maryland picked up a commitment from 3-star TE Weston Wolff (Venice, FL) tonight. He chose the Terps over offers from Baylor, Miami (FL), Ole Miss, UCF, and West Virginia, among others. He becomes the second tight end in the 2021 class, joining 3-star Leron Husbands. Both are smaller pass-catchers, signaling a desire from Locksley to get more production from his tight ends.

Since the Terps only have two scholarship TEs on the roster this season, tight ends coach Mike Miller has worked hard to bring both Wolff and Husbands on board for next year.

Mike Miller is on a roll this weekend, as Maryland just picked up a commitment from another 3-star TE. CJ Dippre (Jermyn, PA) chose the Terps over offers from Pitt, Rutgers, Temple, and Virginia, among others. Unlike the other two tight ends in the 2021 class, he's much bigger (6'5", 245 lbs) and should add a more physical presence. He's an excellent athlete, and was being recruited by some other teams as a DE.

Maryland's class is currently ranked #13 in the country, and #5 in the Big Ten.

It is exciting to see Maryland bringing in all this talent.  Keep it going Locks and company.

If the Terps land Williams, I would have to think that moves them into the Top 10 for recruiting.

Solid addition. 3-star back with other offers from Michigan, Minnesota, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, among others. Ranked as the 7th-best player in D.C., so just another example of Locksley keeping local talent home.

Yep, good pickup.

Let's hope we soon know him as Taulia, rather than Tua's brother.
