His barrel % and hard hit % is the highest of his career. K rate up slightly but nothing to worry about. Straight up Ill say it. They approach and the batted ball metrics are fine. Good even. Again, people dont want to hear it and only look at batting avg or OPS. Thats fine if thats what you want to do. Adley and his coaches should look at the process and change very little.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that Adley was told by the coaching staff to try for more launch angle and this is the result.

Everything he does on the field says ultimate team player. He runs the bases hard. He still meets his pitchers. He has improved his framing and pop time. It was either Meoli or Kostka that was talking anout him recently about how much of a team player he is and he just wants to win. I think this is the stuff that pisses me off more than anything else. Hes not the guy to be attacking. Hes just not. You can be frustrated by his production but the other stuff is BS. There are numerous guys Im fine with picking at with this team. Adley isnt one of them.
I disagree with pretty much all of this

Forget the xnumbers. He is hitting the ball harder and barreling up at his highest rate ever. He has an extremely low BABIP. I get that just looking at BABIP doesnt tell the whole story but hes htting the ball harder than ever. Hes just not finding green grass.Read an article recently, although it was several years old, the showed that BA and OPS are actually more predictive than the expected stats.
The one thing I havent looked at is his spray charts or GB/LD/FB rates. Maybe there is something in that data that makes him easier to defend. That could certainly be part of the story. But its also undeniable he has been unlucky

You watch the ABs. You only want to see the ones that end with him "flailing". Not the ones where he is hitting 100 MPH rockets right at someone
You don't know what you're talking about man. Watch the F'ing AB's. It's so obvious. Yes he's hitting the ball hard. No one's saying he isn't. Well, maybe Pedro.

I can’t deal with this again. I refuse to.

That's what happens when you're trying to hit home runs with warning track power. This isn't that hard.i acknowledged that none of us really know who is selfish or not. I'd like to think Adley isnt. I'm a huge fan. If he can't figure it out and make the adjustments, he'll be a JAG.

90% mental. Riding it out probably doesn't fix the things that need to change.
